Palme D’Or Goes to Thailand


The 63rd Cannes Film Festival awarded its top prize to Thai film ‘Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.’ Academy Award winners Javier Bardem and Juliette Binoche also earned acting honors. (May 24)

Romanian film wins Palme d’Or


Twelve days of international cinema have come to an end in Cannes with the Romanian film ’4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days’ winning the top prize – the Palme d’Or.

‘The White Ribbon’ wins Palme d’Or at Cannes


Austrian director Michael Haneke won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes film festival for ‘The White Ribbon’. ‘A Prophet’ by French Jacques Audiard received the runner up prize.

Détranges accidents surviennent et prennent peu à peu le caractère dun rituel punitif.

Thai director Weerasethakul wins Cannes’ Palme d’Or
Cannes, May 24 : Bangkok-born director Apichatpong Weerasethakul won the Palme d’Or Sunday for best film of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival for his movie about animism in the Thai jungle and a man celebrating his past lives.
