Angelina Jolie is expecting twins

Hi, I’m Melisse Hinkle and this is your UPI Entertainment Update on this 15th day of May, 2008. Angelina Jolie will add two new babies to her family this summer. The actress has confirmed that she’s having twins. But it was Jack Black, not Jolie, who first broke the news. The two stars were in an interview together at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, when Black reportedly said to Jolie, you’ll have “as many as the Brady Bunch when you have these.” Jolie then acknowledged that she is, in fact, pregnant with twins. The actress is reportedly due on August 19. Anne Heche is getting a temporary break from her child support payments. Now that “Men in Trees” has been cancelled, the actress reportedly claims she can’t afford the nearly $15000 she’s been handing over to ex-husband Coley Laffoon on a monthly basis. A judge is giving Heche a break for the month of July. The actress apparently had less than $35000 in all of her bank accounts on Tuesday. That’s according to an E! News report. Only two competitors remain in the quest for the next ‘American Idol.’ Syesha Mercado was eliminated last night, leaving David Cook and David Archuleta to battle it out for the title. Mercado thanked her fans on Wednesday’s show before singing her farewell song, a cover of the Alicia Keys ballad, “If I Ain’t Got You.” Judge Simon Cowell commented on next week’s finale saying, “We’re going to have a real humdinger.” Tony award nominees stepped out for a luncheon in New York on Wednesday …

CHAN: And now let’s have a look at a snippet of what’s happening at the Cannes Film Festival with Clint Eastwood, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Valentino. It’s the halfway point at the world’s biggest film festival. While most filmgoers say they’re generally impressed with the quality of the ‘In Competition’ movies so far, Cannes is still waiting for the one big flick to make its mark. Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie could do just that. They held a news conference on Tuesday for “The Exchange” – a true story from the 1920s about a woman whose child goes missing and is returned to her – only to realize the child isn’t hers. Even one of Hollywood’s top leading ladies admitted to first day jitters when directed by Eastwood. [Angelina Jolie, Actress]: “I was like anybody would be in this room I was nervous the first day, but he is really – you should shut your ears because I’m going to embarrass you – he’s really just a great leader, a great all round leader.” Eastwood said he had no intentions of reprising his most famous role.
